Become A Volunteer

Work out in the fresh air and do some heavy lifting. Do something good for your health and for the horses.
Indiana Horse Rescue enlists the skills, diligence and expertise to build a team of volunteers that devote their time to feeding, grooming and cleaning stalls. As well as being responsible for the daily tasks of caring for the horses, we depend on volunteers for mowing the grass, taking care of landscaping, fence repair and so much more.  Volunteers must work together in all areas of the organization including fundraising, special events, adoption placement and farm & facility maintenance.
We currently need experienced individuals who can help with fundraising, grant writing, or who have mechanical skills.  We always need help with barn chores and farm work seven days a week, 365 days a year.  The animals and farm still needs looked after even when it rains, snows, or in extreme heat – year round. Volunteers generally help with barn chores and feeding each day, so there are plenty of opportunities to lend a hand.

Horse experience is not necessary to become a volunteer at Indiana Horse Rescue. IHR welcomes volunteers with varying degrees of horse experience.
